"Behind Closed Doors"
Acrylic Canvas
– created 2021 – 2022
“Behind closed doors” portrays the ways everyday life went ahead during COVID: some people alone and despairing, others partying on regardless, some back at work in the office, others just surviving at home, cooking, cleaning, reading, exercising. It’s an oblique reference to the Hitchcock movie ‘Rear Window’, life in the big city lived behind closed doors but observed from outside. The smiling ‘man in the moon’ reminds us how insignificant our little lives are in a universe of endless time and space. Despite COVID, life goes on.
